Stage West is pleased to present the 3rd Annual Texas Playwriting Competition Festival, which will run at the Vickery playhouse from May 28-30. The Festival will present staged readings of the co-winners of the 2009 competition, Binge by Thomas Ward and Certificate of Death by Walter Wykes, and also of the first runner-up, Hopelessly Puccini by the late Steve Lovett.
In addition, in conjunction with the festival, Stage West is delighted to offer a staged reading reprise of its very first production, Edward Albee’s The Zoo Story, featuring the original cast, Jerry Russell as Jerry and Joe Berryman as Peter. The original production opened in October of 1979; there was a short-run reprise of the production in Stage West’s 10th season featuring Jerry and Joe again.

Saturday, May 29, 3:00 – Hopelessly Puccini, directed by LisaAnne Haram, and featuring Angel Velasquez, Stan Graner, Dennis Canright, David Wilkins, and Shane Beeson,
Saturday, May 29, 7:00 – The Zoo Story, directed by Dana Schultes, with Jerry Russell and Joe Berryman,
Sunday, May 30 – Binge, directed by Justin Flowers, with John Davies, Jerame Browning, Jordan Willis, Amber Guest and Dwight Greene.
